First post! Anyways, i created this tribe to see if anyone one else draws maps by means of computer or by hand.

This site will feature daily updates of my map projects as well as anouncements of future projects and contests.

User who join are encouraged to provide a link to their work and a description of how they got to drawing maps in the first place. Also include how you draw and your map style. any format or techinque are welcome.

Map Drawers unite! is not only for maps and related topics, you may also post your off topic comments or suggestions.

Just make it not to off topic (mature, dating, religious)!!

Feel free to give me a shout if you want to suggest any new contests or map project requests.

Brilliant! I used to draw maps of cities that I "invented", complete with light rail systems and bike trails, etc. Now I work as a land surveyor and land planner and design real land tracts in SoCal using AutoCAD with Land Development desktop. It's hard to believe that there is anyone else out there that does what I do!

yeah, it seems to be a silent project that many do. It gets overshadowed by simcity 4 and other computer games. I suspect that there are more ppl out there that do the same stuff. I will be doing some searching around in the next couple of weeks to get more ppl involved.

oh, by the way, nice pictures of your maps, i used to draw that style of maps (plot and lot). I moslty do draw and fill style, it takes very long to do but the rewards are good.

Do you have any big cities? (more than 20 pages big?)

Yes, I created a city years ago which now is about 3 feet square, that I am guessing would have about 250,000 people if it were real. Mind you, it wasn't supposed to be a utopian ideal of a city, but my interpretation of a real one. If you're really interested, I could scan it at my office as a PDF file.
